In the 16th century, Tulsidas transformed the original Ramayana episodes into the epic Ramcharitmanas, for the purpose of writing the epic Ramcharitmanas in the Awadhi language.
The Ramcharitmanas is not a summary or abridgment of the Valmiki Ramayana in any sense. Numerous Ramayanas that were written originally in the Sanskrit language, as well as tales from the Puranas, are incorporated into the Ramcharitmanas.
Tulsidas says that Shiva's mind (Manasa) held the story of Rama and that Shiva then told this account to His consort, Devi Parvati, in the epic Ramcharitmanas.
According to Tulsidas, his master (Guru) Narharidas told him the tale. Tulsidas was a child at the time of the story's creation, and he carried it around in his head (Manasa) for a long time before putting it down on paper as Ramcharitmanas.
As a result, Tulsikrit Ramayana is yet another name for the epic (The Ramayana composed by Tulsidas). A great work of popular literature is The Ramcharitmanas.
Tulsidas was born in Rajapur, Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River on the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of the month of Shravan (July or August) (also known as Chitrakoot).
Atmaram Shukla Dubey was his father, and Hulsi Dubey was his mother. According to a myth, Tulsidas spent 12 months in his mother's womb.
Tulsidas was born with 32 teeth; he did not cry but instead uttered the name Ram; as a result, his childhood nickname was Rambol.
