sakalagunaa-nidhaanam vaanaranaa-madhiisam
raghupati-priya-bhaktam vataa jaatam namaami
I salute the son of the Wind God (Hanuman), the leader of the monkeys and Rama's messenger, whose strength is unmatched and whose body is like a hill of gold, who burns the forest of asuras (demons) like a jungle fire, who stands tall among the spiritually enlightened, and who is a storehouse of all virtues.
gospadi-krta-varaasim-masakikrta-raksasaam
ramaayana-mahaamala-ratnam vande-nilaatmajam
Salutations to the son of the Wind God (Hanuman), who traversed the ocean as if it were a puddle in the hoof-prints of a calf, who crushed the Rakshasas as if they were mosquitoes, and whose actions sparkle like the center diamond in the Ramayana's necklace.
anjana nandanam viram janaki-soka naashanam
kapisha maksahan taaram vande lanka-bhayankaram
I honor the brave Hanuman, the leader of the monkeys and the son of Anjana, who slew (Ravan's son) Akshkumara, who terrorized the people of Lanka, and who consoled Sita's grief.
ullanghya sindhoh salilam salilam
yaah shoka vahanim janakat majayah
adayaa tenaiva dadahaa lankam
namaami tam pranjalir-anjaneyam
With my palms united in reverence, I prostrate before the son of Anjana who leapt across the ocean as a sport, extinguishing the fire in Sita's thoughts and igniting Lanka with the same fire.
manojavam maruta tulyavegam
jitendriyam budhimaatam varishitam
vaatmajam vanaraayutha mukhyam
srirama dhuutam sharanam prapadhye
I bow down to Hanuman, who is the son of the Wind God, Rama's messenger, and the leader of the Monkey Army. He is as fast as the wind and as quick as the mind, and he is the master of his senses and the wisest among all.
anjaneya mati patalaananam
kanchanadri kamaniya-vigraham
parijata tarumula-vasinam
bhavayaami paavamana-nananam
I meditate on the son of the Wind God and Anjana. He has a deep red face, a body as interesting as a mountain of gold, and likes to reside at the base of the Parijata tree.
yatra yatra raghunaatha-kirtanam
tatra tatra krta masta kaanjalim
baspa vaari paripurna-locanam
maarutim naamata rakshas-antakam
I bow down to Maruti (Hanuman), who brings death to Rakshasas (demons) and visits every place where Rama's name is praised with his head bowed, hands folded in worship, and eyes full of tears.
